Flamingo Pet Products supports growth with new offices and warehouse
Flamingo is growing. Over the last two years, we’ve gone from 123 employees to 176 employees. And we are still growing steadily. To support this growth, we are building a new head office and warehouse. We are staying true to our roots: our new building will still be in the Kempen region.
16 August was the day: work started on our new head office and warehouse. It is estimated that the works will be completed and we will be able to move around November 2023. The new building will offer plenty of room for further growth. As our new location is only a few streets away, we will stay true to our Kempen roots.

UPDATE October 2022
Our new building is now really starting to take shape. A gigantic crane has installed 312 columns for the new building, so that the basic structure is now clearly visible. You can already see part of the first section of the warehouse and the corresponding loading docks. If you look closely at the pictures, you can also see a few posts being placed for the other sections of the warehouse.
UPDATE September 2022
Flamingo is growing
Recently, we were lucky enough to be able to put 50 candles on our cake and celebrate with our 176 employees. We have come a long way! Flamingo was founded by René Van Tendeloo in 1972. We quickly grew from a small bird shop to a wholesaler of bird products. A few years later, the Flamingo range became more and more extensive, and branched out to other animals too. We now have a range of no less than 8500 products that we deliver to 55 countries. This amazing growth means we are now bursting at the seams. And we still have plenty of (growth) plans! Moving to a larger building is a logical step.
Sustainability
Corporate Social Responsibility is embedded in our company. It goes without saying that this is part of our plans for the new building as much as possible.
As well as extra attention for the use of construction materials with low environmental impact, the on-site waste will be limited as much as possible, and the impact of the construction process on flora and fauna in the vicinity will be minimal. Also, we will install 27 rainwater wells - each with a capacity of 10,000 litres - so that we can recoup a considerable amount of rainwater and reduce our drinking water consumption as a result.
Finally, we will be working with Heylen Warehouses, partner in multimodal property solutions, on the second-life principle. This means Heylen Warehouses builds everything with an eye to the future, so that buildings can last several ‘lifetimes’.

Strong together
Flamingo is growing. Of course, this growth is due to the enthusiastic employees. Our people are the force behind our growth. And that is why we try to do something extra for our Flamingo family every now and then. For example, we reward our employees with treats on the regular, flexible working hours, the option to lease an electric bicycle, lots of fringe benefits, (environmentally aware) company cars, and their pets are not forgotten either.
